Upcoming traveling time - Camping/Airstream weekend trip

It took a good day to recover from that trip!  We had a great time and the dogs had just as a good time as we did.  All of us were lazy yesterday and today it was off to work and heading into what will be a very busy month of June.  Back to the usual grind, and how dare the husband be off today while I have to muster the strength to get up way too early and head to work.

Trying to squeeze in some traveling time next month.  Camping/Airstream Weekend Trip:  June 8-10, 2012 in mid-south Ohio.  All are welcome to join, not just Airstreamers.

I have found what looks to be a great campground.  Apparently no reservations are required, they have full hook-ups at $28/night.  Check in being after 8:00am and checkout before 5:00pm.

Back on the Road

Leaving Alabama and heading to Nashville.  The roads in Alabama are super bumpy, worst I've ever experienced. Talladega was a blast and we finally got the shower in the trailer going.
Will be happy to have a peaceful evening tonight and headed home tomorrow.  Puppies are worn out and fast asleep in the car.
Mental note: whenever you have to use a shower house at a campground because your shower isn't working, don't forget a towel.

Out in the Oven

Thermostat outside reading 90.  Ugh, it's hot and too many men without shirts that should have rethought that decision.  Had some issues with the Airstream.  What should have taken just over an 8 hour drive, took 11.  We had a water leak in the bathroom, fixed.  Now shower won't work, so had to go to the bath house and forgot my towel.  Have smashed both of my thumbs.  Looking forward to a more pleasant day tomorrow.  Good news, had an awesome dinner and a couple of cocktails.  And bonus, we went to Walmart to pick a few things and saw the most popular Nascar driver.
At least things took a turn for the better.

A Change of Scenery

So the whole restoration of items didn't go very smoothly and, in fact, it was a bust.  I put the cart before the horse, it just didn't go anywhere.  Without ample inside space (workshop) to work on the items, they just sat.  However, all is not lost.

My husband and I actually purchased something much bigger to work on instead of a multitude of small items, a 1976 International Sovereign Airstream travel trailer.
We are heading out for the first journey this Thursday and will be on the road for almost an entire week.  This blog will be conformed into notes of my adventures / travel blog as I set out on the road with my husband and our three dogs.  We figured, rather than staying in hotels, having to crate our dogs (aka the mini pack), bothering others with barking, it would behoove us to get a travel trailer.  We just cannot stomach boarding our beloved pets.  This is travel trailer number two, we are selling our first travel trailer.

We currently have another travel trailer that we bought a couple of years ago and is just too large for us.  We are currently selling the former one.  Should you or someone you know be interested in purchasing the former travel trailer, please let me know (sleeps up to 6 people).

More to come this week!
